Position Summary:
Working under the supervision of the Landscape Operations Manager/Trainer, the Landscape Operations Supervisor manage daily operations to ensure the on-time, within-budget delivery of high quality landscape services. This includes hiring, training, scheduling, coordinating and supervising three to five separate crews performing landscape maintenance services on various job sites, and responsibility for regular and ongoing communication with the landscape customer base.

The Operations Supervisor is held accountable for a well-trained, customer service oriented workforce, high level of employee morale, high levels of customer satisfaction and the delivery of on-time, within budget services per contract and Rubicon standard requirements.

This is a hands on position, requiring the Supervisor to physically participate in landscape maintenance projects as needed. 

RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Landscape Operations Supervisor: Responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all landscape vehicles, tools, and equipment; includes systems and operating procedures asset protection and safety programs. Responsible for comprehensive project management of all landscape maintenance projects including but not limited to budgeting; scheduling and supervising work crews; contract compliance, adherence to quality standards and crew safety.
  • People Management & Development: Includes resource planning, managing department hiring, skills development and performance management, and supervision of direct reports.
  • Client satisfaction: Accountable for excellent internal and external customer service including tracking and monitoring systems and stakeholder reporting.
  • Direct supervision of and primary contact for AbilityOne participant with disabilities and provide training and assessment to assist participants to gain the necessary skills for growth and self-sustainability.
  • This position would be on the schedule to assist or lead to complete landscape duties to include,
    but not limited to mowing, trimming, pruning, aerating, spraying, irrigation work, etc.

 COMPETENCIES    

  • Comprehensive landscape maintenance, and landscape operations experience and expertise.
  • Initiative, solid project management skills, excellent communication, strong negotiation and influencing abilities and comprehensive supervisory expertise. 
  • Computer and internet proficiency.
  • Desirable: Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, Certified Landscape Technician, Certified Applicator, and Certified Irrigation Auditor credentials.
  • Bend and/or kneel up to 10% of the time. 
  • Lift/carry: up to 25 pounds and up to 60 % of the time
  • This position requires the incumbent to travel efficiently throughout the Bay Area to various lob sites, therefore proof of a valid driver license, current auto insurance and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required. 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • $27.50 – $35.00 hour.
