Financial Educator/Coach

Have you been working as a successful Financial Adviser and are interested in giving back? Do you enjoy facilitating workshops and developing relationships with financial institutions and community organizations to connect prospective clients? Rubicon's Financial Coach position may be for YOU!

We are seeking a Financial Coach to provide financial assessment, benefits screening, and coaching to low-income, formerly incarcerated and homeless clients. 

This is a full-time, non-exempt position paying between $24-$26 per hour, depending on experience.  The role will have responsibilities in Alameda as well as Contra Costa County. After onboarding you will spend about 50% of your time supporting each county, including an onsite presence in Alameda County.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Coaching including marketing the value of financial fluency to clients, financial plan development, workshop facilitation, one-on-one coaching to help clients achieve personal financial goals, coordinating the provision of financial services to clients and coordinating the VITA tax preparation services.
  • Benefit Screening Services including assessing and screening clients for public benefit eligibility, and assisting clients to apply for and secure public benefits.
  • Client and Partner Outreach including developing relationships with local financial institutions and community organizations, and connecting prospective clients with Rubicon services and/or referral to outside resources when appropriate.

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal flexibility, solid organizational skills, problem solving abilities, excellent facilitation, coaching and communication skills.
  • A robust understanding of personal finances, particularly in the areas of budgeting, asset building, and credit building.
  • Experience involving the successful provision of services to formerly incarcerated, homeless and/or low-income individuals.
  • If you don’t currently possess our organizational core competencies of Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Coaching, Rubicon provides necessary training.
  • Cultural Responsiveness and an alignment with our values and commitment to equity and inclusion.

This position requires occasional travel to appointments and other Rubicon meetings; if the employee opts to meet these travel requirements by driving, proof of a valid and current driver license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required.

 

  • COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • $24 - $26/hour DOE.
